What is your Approach to Supervision? Supervision is a collaborative and supportive space designed to help emerging clinicians develop the skills and confidence needed to provide safe, effective counseling. My approach is rooted in a person-centered model, allowing me to meet supervisees where they are and tailor guidance to their individual needs. Because growth is ongoing, I remain attentive to the changing needs of each supervisee, balancing professional development with the shared responsibility of ensuring client and therapist safety.
What are your Goals for Supervision? Through the use of the reflective model of supervision, the goals of clinical supervision are: Skill Development & Safety: Build competence in assessment, treatment, case management, documentation, and ethical decision-making while ensuring both client and therapist safety. Reflective Growth: Use a reflective supervision model to foster professional confidence, reduce performance anxiety, and strengthen clinical identity. Practical Application: Support the integration of clinical training into real-world practice through treatment planning, collateral communication, and implementation. Diversity & Awareness: Model and promote culturally responsive care while helping supervisees develop self-awareness to manage countertransference effectively. Professional Boundaries: Clarify when issues belong in supervision versus personal therapy, ensuring appropriate support without crossing into a therapeutic role.
